HPS Performance Air Filters are constructed from multi-layered woven cotton and dressed with synthetic oil. The filtering element is then encased in steel mesh to maintain its shape even under heavy suction. This filtration system allows for plenty of fresh air to maximize performance and traps dirt and debris from damaging your engine. A filter sock is a crucial first line of defense, intercepting larger debris like dirt, bugs, and dust before they can embed themselves in the primary filter media. It also helps prevent water droplets from entering your air filter and causing your vehicle to hydro lock under wet weather conditions. Crafted from high-quality breathable water repellent polyester material, the sock minimally restricts airflow while ensuring debris filtration. A strong elastic band ensures a snug fit around your intake filter, while the strong stitching holds the sock together for superior durability and a long service life. This protective layer extends service intervals for your intake, meaning you don't have to clean the primary air filter as often. This is particularly valuable when out on the track or in dusty off-road conditions where contaminants accumulate quickly. Installation is a simple slip-on process, and when dirty, the sock can be quickly washed with mild detergent and water and dries in a short time, getting you back on the track much faster.
